Its been a while…😬

Firstly - apologies, the newsletter has been DOWN… 📉 

But I promise there has been good reason for it.

If you’re still with me… You’re a true legend! 😄 

There has been some major changes in the Kirk household and that, ultimately has meant the passion projects like this newsletter have not even been 2nd or 3rd priority but probably closer to 10th…

Anyway - Whats been going on?

Well - I secured myself a new role! 🎉

Which is awesome!

The new role is still very much within the world of Risk Management, but it has a heavy emphasis on Technology. Taking me back to my roots of Information Systems and Business Resiliency in the Marines. Exciting times.

A great deal to learn and even more to produce - I’m de facto Head of UK Technology Risk and will be building out a whole Risk Framework from the ground up. Challenging? No doubt - but who wants to constantly exist in their comfort zone? 📈 

So why a new role Chris?

Easy -

1. A unique opportunity to build something from scratch.

2. Fantastic benefits.

3. A train commute (Where I can think, read and write).💡 

4. A gym onsite (freaking game changer btw).

5. More Flexibility in time and working (even more of a game changer).

6. Fantastic values and culture.

JPMC gave me an awesome grounding in my new career and I will truly miss the incredible people I worked with but sometimes a new opportunity has to be grasped. ❤️ 

Hello Fatherhood…🐤

Soon enough I will be managing the risk of being wee’d on and pooped on by a mini me... But I honestly cannot wait! (Not sure the world is ready though 😅).

Needless to say this is an amazing milestone in my life that cannot be underestimated. 😊 

Prepping for fatherhood has sucked up a huge amount of time - pulling the house apart, creating space, ordering stuff - the works. 😫 

As I’m told - my life will change forever - for the better.

But change it will.

Sleepless nights here we come… 💤

I’m also fully open to parenting tips and tricks 😅 … hit reply and let me know…

The final piece is a Stoic Product is in the pipeline…⤵️ 

I’m in collaboration with some cool dudes and we’re hoping to launch a Stoic Academy of sorts with multiple streams of learning and value add…

Watch this space.

It will be exciting to bring the product to life! 😄 

Health… 💪 

I’ve also spent A LOT of time working on my personal health.

This will pay dividends for when the baby arrives as the plane will be higher in the air when it eventually starts to fall… 🚀 

Meaning… I have flex in the system now for when sleep deprivation has taken over and I’m scraping the remains of lasagne out of a meal prep box from 2 weeks ago just hoping to make it through another day of work… ☕️ 👔 

My final thought… 💭

Thanks for sticking with the newsletter and I do still have some lofty aspirations for it.

• One of my big aims is to eventually move into Contracting/Consulting and so I’m always looking to build up my network in that area and I’m hoping this newsletter will be a conduit to that. If there are any connections or recommendations on this front that anyone could make I would be forever grateful! 😄
